Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages under supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will document progress notes, administer modalities, and help maintain departmental records in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility to practice as an OTA in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; current certifications must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessments under OT supervision.
• Document patient care and progress notes.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per department policy.
• Maintain progress notes and department records including charges.
• Promote education within the department.
• Work with patients across neonatal to geriatric age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient PM Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• Experience: One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
