Job summary

Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich is seeking per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our therapy team. Weekly pay up to $40 an hour and a flexible per diem schedule support ongoing patient care within a general rehab caseload under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

The role involves direct resident treatments, documentation, and active participation in program development and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in occupational therapy assisting from an accredited program.
• Must possess a COTA license in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident treatments under a physician’s order in accordance with a plan of care.
• Deliver individual, supervised, and group treatments.
• Participate in clinical program development and implementation.
• Document activities in the clinical documentation system on time.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Support Rehab Program Manager with assigned duties.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities.

As a COTA, you assist in the provision of collection of assessment data, and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist and participate in clinical program development.

Education & Experience:

• As a minimum, an associate degree in occupational therapy assistant from an accredited program.
• Must possess a COTA license in Massachusetts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• May perform additional assigned administrative duties such as assigned by Rehab Program Manager.
• Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venue includes individual, supervised, and group.
• Contributes to the team meeting and decision making process as defined by the program.
• Consults with and trains patients, residents and caregivers.
• Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
• Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
• Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Participates in clinical program development and implementation.
• May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet or exceed the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department.
