Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic care team. You will assist in data collection, and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

Qualified candidates hold an OTA associate degree, Massachusetts licensure with CEUs, and can participate in program development.

Qualifications

• Requires an OTA associate degree from an accredited program.
• Must possess an OTA license in Massachusetts.
• CEUs required to meet state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident treatments under a physician's order according to an established plan of care.
• Contribute to team meetings and decision-making processes.
• Consult with and train patients, residents and caregivers.
• Document activities in the clinical documentation system in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Participate in clinical program development and implementation.

Job description

We are hiring a per diem Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic care team at Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

Weekly pay up to $35 an hour.

As a COTA, you assist in the provision of collection of assessment data, and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist and participate in clinical program development.

Education & Experience:

• As a minimum, an associate degree in occupational therapy assistant from an accredited program.
• CEU’s per state licensure requirements.
• Must possess an OTA license in Massachusetts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Under a physician’s order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care. Treatment venues include individual, supervised, and group.
• Contributes to the team meeting and decision-making process as defined by the program.
• Consults with and trains patients, residents and caregivers.
• Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.
• Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
• Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.
• Participates in clinical program development and implementation.

• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary.
• Communication skills needed for directing staff, customer relations, marketing activities.
• Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulations of equipment and direct patient care.
• Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language.
