Job summary

Premier Rehab & Healthcare at Burlington in Burlington, Vermont is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. The role focuses on providing high-quality, person-centered occupational therapy to residents and patients under supervision of an OT.

You will deliver ADL and mobility interventions, educate families and caregivers, and document progress while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited OTA program.
• Current and valid Vermont OTA license in good standing.
• Experience or familiarity with long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OT interventions under an OT's supervision.
• Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals.
• Deliver ADL, mobility, strength, balance, and cognitive activities.
• Monitor responses and communicate progress to the OT.
• Assist with exercises and functional tasks to promote independence.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and safety.
• Collaborate with OT, nursing, physicians, and the care team.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation and records.
• Report changes in patient status to the care team.
• Follow treatment plans, standards, and facility policies.
• Participate in meetings and duties as assigned by Rehab Director.

Full-Time | P RN opportunities available

Premier Rehab & Healthcare at Burlington has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Burlington, Vermont.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated COTA to provide high-quality, person-centered occupational therapy services to our residents and patients. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists and an experienced interdisciplinary team to help patients improve functional independence, safety, and quality of life.

Pay: $32-$38 per hour

COTA Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and established goals.

• Provide therapeutic activities addressing activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, balance, and other areas of occupational performance.

• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.

• Assist patients with exercises, therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and functional tasks designed to promote independence.

• Educate residents, patients, families, and caregivers on appropriate therapeutic techniques, safety, and strategies that support independence.

• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, patient progress, and other required records.

• Communicate changes in patient condition or functional status to the appropriate members of the healthcare team.

• Follow established treatment plans, professional standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations.

• Participate in required meetings and other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

COTA Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Current and valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Vermont.

• Must be in good standing with applicable licensing and regulatory agencies.

• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting preferred.

• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy treatment techniques and rehabilitation practices.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with residents and patients with a variety of needs and abilities.

• Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with electronic therapy documentation systems, including Net Health, preferred.
