Job summary

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a PRN basis. You will work with the OT and care team to provide resident-centered therapy services that promote independence and safety.

Applicants must be a Florida-licensed COTA and a graduate of an accredited OTA program. Prior long-term care experience is preferred, but new grads are encouraged to apply and will be considered for flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents' abilities.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and ADLs to promote recovery and independence.
• Monitor resident progress and document treatments and responses per policy.
• Communicate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and care team.
• Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions and follow infection control guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of resident information.
• Provide encouragement and support throughout rehabilitation.
• Foster a positive, respectful therapy environment.

Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Join Our Therapy Team

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The COTA will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to provide quality, resident-centered therapy services that promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents' functional abilities and independence.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote recovery and maximize independence.
• Monitor resident progress and accurately document treatments, interventions, and responses in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions while following infection control, safety, and facility guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Provide encouragement and support to residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and engaging therapy environment.
