Job summary

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. You will work with an Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team to deliver resident-centered therapy to promote independence and safety.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate documentation, and teamwork with nursing, physicians, and therapy staff.

Qualifications

• Current Florida COTA license required.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents' functional abilities and independence.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and ADLs to promote recovery and maximize independence.
• Monitor resident progress and document treatments, interventions, and responses in accordance with facility policies.
• Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other care team members.
• Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions following infection control and facility guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information per HIPAA and facility policies.
• Provide encouragement and support to residents throughout rehabilitation.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and engaging therapy environment.

Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The COTA will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to provide quality, resident-centered therapy services that promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life.
