Job summary

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. You will collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and care team to deliver resident-centered therapy focused on independence, safety, and quality of life.

Requirements include a valid Florida COTA license and graduation from an accredited OTA program.

Qualifications

• Florida COTA license is required.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Long-term care or SNF experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans.

• Maintain resident confidentiality per HIPAA.

Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Join Our Therapy Team

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. The COTA will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team to provide quality, resident-centered therapy services that promote independence, safety, and improved quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents' functional abilities and independence.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote recovery and maximize independence.
• Monitor resident progress and accurately document treatments, interventions, and responses in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with Occupational Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Ensure resident safety during therapy sessions while following infection control, safety, and facility guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
• Provide encouragement and support to residents throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and engaging therapy environment.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
