Job summary

Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. You will collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and care team to deliver resident-centered therapy focused on independence, safety, and quality of life.

Requirements include a valid Florida COTA license and graduation from an accredited OTA program.

Qualifications

• Florida COTA license is required.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Long-term care or SNF experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans.
• Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and ADLs.
• Monitor progress and document treatments per policy.
• Communicate with therapists, nursing staff, and physicians.
• Ensure resident safety and maintain infection control.
• Maintain resident confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Provide encouragement and support throughout rehabilitation.
• Foster a positive, respectful therapy environment.
