Job summary

Aegis Healthcare is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Home Health & Hospice Nursing team in Mesa, AZ. You will support patients' engagement in meaningful occupations and work under the supervision of an OT to deliver patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Current Licensed, registered or Certified in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (we can help).
• Current CPR Certification (we can help) & Negative TB Test (we can test).
• Proof of auto insurance & registration.

Responsibilities

• Address patient's performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and life quality
• Select appropriate occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach to direct the process of interventions
• Consults with OT regarding change in treatment
• Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures
• Participates in in-service education
• Assists in preparing clinical and progress notes
• Improves or minimizes residual physical impairments of the patient
• Teach patient's new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
• Performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the OT
• Assess patient's home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers

COMPENSATION: $30-$35 / Hourly DOE (with Bonus Opportunity)

SCHEDULE: M-F 8am – 5pm (Schedule Flexibility)
