Aegis Healthcare is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Home Health & Hospice team in East Valley (Mesa). You’ll assess patients, implement OT treatment plans, and collaborate with OT and care teams to improve daily living activities and independence for patients across home health settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Current Licensed, registered or Certified in the state of practice
• Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse personalities.
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement.
• Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.
• Proof of auto insurance & registration.
• Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (we can help).
• Current CPR Certification (we can help) & Negative TB Test (we can test).

Responsibilities

• Address patient's performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and life quality.
• Select appropriate OT treatment model, method, and approach to direct interventions.
• Consults with OT regarding changes in treatment.
• Adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
• Participate in in-service education.
• Assist in preparing clinical and progress notes.
• Improve or minimize residual impairments.
• Educate patients on tasks and break them into achievable steps.
• Perform services planned, delegated and supervised by the OT.
• Assess patient's home and environments and advise on alterations.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Educate family members and caregivers.

Job Summary
