Job summary

Park-Place Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Great Falls, MT is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patients in recovery and rehabilitation. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will assist with restoring mobility, balance and independence after illness or injury.

The role involves implementing therapy programs, documenting care, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license or certification in the state of practice, or proof of license eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapist in helping patients recover and rehabilitate from serious illness, injury, or medical events.
• Provide support services to improve strength, function, balance and gait as patients recover from hip fractures, orthopedic injuries or joint replacements.
• Document all services to ensure accurate and timely billing of therapy services.
• Ensure patient care follows the Plan of Care and professional standards.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy programs under OT supervision.
• Identify need for referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive patient needs.
• Support care of residents with short-term/transitional care goals.

Position Description

A COTA is responsible for assisting Occupational Therapist in helping patients recover and rehabilitate from the effects of a serious illness, injury or medical event, regaining their own best possible level of functional ability, well-being and independence. Provides support services to improve strength and function, restore more efficient movement, improve flexibility and aid patients in restoring mobility and/or improving balance and gait after hip fractures and other orthopedic injuries, medical illness, or as they recover from joint replacement procedures.

Principal Responsibilities Provide support care of residents who seek short-term/transitional care with the goal to recover and rehabilitate from the effects of serious illness, injury or medical event, regaining their own best possible level of functional ability, well-being and independence. Assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care, under the supervision of licensed therapists.

Document all services provided to ensure accurate and timely billing of therapy services.

Assures that patient care follows the established Plan of Care, the organization s guidelines, meets professional standards, community needs and is in compliance with Federal and State guidelines.

Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, identifies and develops a comprehensive plan of care; Develops and implements individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.

Identify need for and makes referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the patient under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
