- Implement therapeutic activities and interventions designed by the Occupational Therapist; assist students with fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills; use adaptive equipment and techniques to support students' functional abilities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student needs; participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed, providing input on student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions; report observations and progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist for review and further planning.
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in conducting assessments and evaluations of students' abilities and needs; collect data and provide feedback on student performance during therapy sessions.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college with an AA or AS degree or equivalent in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid license by the California Board of Occupational Therapy; Valid Driver’s License; proof of automobile insurance and access to an automobile.
