Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - West Hollywood Area

Join Savant Senior Living as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the West Hollywood area.

Job Description

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), contracted through the Organization, reports to the registered occupational therapist responsible for overseeing standards of care for occupational therapy services and ensuring compliance with all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement. The COTA performs services that are planned, delegated, and supervised by the registered occupational therapist.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in evaluating patients' functional status and home environment, as delegated by the registered occupational therapist.
  2. Assist in teaching new skills or retraining patients in daily activities affected by illness or injury.
  3. Maintain accurate clinical records and report any changes in patient condition to the supervising therapist.
  4. Follow established treatment plans and document patient responses and progress.
  5. Coordinate with other healthcare personnel involved in patient care and document communications.
  6. Attend and contribute to inservices, case conferences, and team meetings.
  7. Identify patient and family needs for additional services and assist with referrals.
  8. Educate patients’ families and healthcare team members on treatment regimes as delegated.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
  • Certification via the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • California state license as an occupational therapy assistant.
  • At least one year of clinical experience as a COTA.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and good driving record.
