Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, IN seeks a Surgical Technologist to support sterile technique in the operating room. You will prepare instruments, maintain a sterile field, and assist the surgical team for successful procedures.

Completion of an accredited surgical tech program is required; NBSTA certification must be obtained within 1 year. CPR, a high school diploma, and at least 6 months of related experience are preferred. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited surgical tech training program.
• NBSTA Certification must be obtained within 1 year of program completion.
• High School Diploma; CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months as a nursing assistant and surgical tech; OB experience desired.

• Pass instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and handle specimens
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Clean OR post-procedure and prepare tools for sterilization

Position Summary
