Job summary

Boston Medical Center South is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care in the Med/Surg 2B unit under RN supervision. You will assist with personal needs, monitor comfort, and communicate with patients and families, maintaining privacy and dignity.

The position is part-time (32 hours), daytime schedule with every other weekend. A high school diploma and MA CNA license or enrollment, CPR, and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts CNA license or enrollment in accredited nursing program.
• CPR certification available or on file.
• Prior CNA experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to prioritize requests to ensure timely patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into his/her performance of job duties. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

• Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in accredited nursing school and completion of the courses "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II."

EXPERIENCE

• Prior CNA experience preferred.
• Computer experience is preferred.
• CPR.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients is required.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
• Must possess the skills to be compassionate, empathetic and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients.

COMPENSATION

Compensation Range: $18.15- $26.97

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
