Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
• A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually.
• Maintains all department specific required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of an RN.
• Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, recording vital signs, and psychosocial support.
• Assists residents with transfers, repositioning, and walking using appropriate techniques and equipment; provides ROM and passive exercises.
• Assists with meals and dining, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
• Documents resident interactions and communicates changes in condition to the charge nurse; assists with wellness and recreational programs.
