Certified Nursing Assistant - Long Term Care - Part Time

Location: Freeman, SD

Worker Type: Regular

Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America)

Freeman Regional Health Service is looking for individuals to join our growing, team-oriented organization.

Position Highlights

Location: Freeman Regional Health Services

Worker Type: Part Time (working at least 24 hours per pay period)

Work Shift: Day Shift (6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) or Night Shifts (6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.) with rotating weekends/holidays.

Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant allows you to directly make a meaningful difference in people's lives by providing essential daily care and emotional support. You have the chance to impact the lives of people based on the care you provide. The relationships you build with the residents and their families will impact you for the rest of your life.

What you will do:

  • Provide assistance to residents with their activities of daily living.
  • Perform routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff.
  • Duties may include assisting patients with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, transfers, repositioning, toileting, answering call lights, and ensuring a clean environment.
  • Document concise and factual information on the appropriate forms.
  • Perform or assist residents in specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure.
  • Provide feedback to nursing staff on status or changes in patient conditions, pain management, and other important concerns.
  • Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
  • Comply with all aspects of resident rights including confidentiality and privacy.
  • Report all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Understand and follow established policies and procedures related to safety and infection control.
  • Mentor new employees and assist with their orientation.
  • Lead by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board certification.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant - Licensing Board Active certification in the state of practice within 60 days.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
