Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Charleston, SC is seeking a compassionate CNA/Direct Care Giver to support residents with daily living activities and encourage independence. You will follow policies, assist with meals, hygiene, mobility, and safety, document care, and participate in activities.

Must have active CNA license and be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 60 days. Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents involving residents and completes documentation.
• Performs housekeeping duties and cleans resident areas as directed.
• Responds promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assists residents to dining room and activities.
• Reports resident status, appointments, admissions, and transfers in records.
• Provides emotional support during move-in transition.
• Notifies family as directed.
• Participates in in-services and staff meetings.
