Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro, NC (5th floor of Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital) is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for PRN night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am). Compensation is $24.00 per hour.

You will provide patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support transport and rounding teams in a high-volume hospital environment. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (or relevant work experience), CNA certification, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant or related role preferred.
• Certification as a nursing assistant required or actively pursuing.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing using basin-less bath products and oral hygiene.
• Assist with oral feeding and care of hair.
• Participate in hourly rounds and transport patients as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and equipment, including bedpans and wheelchairs.
• Support unit stock levels and perform other duties as assigned.

• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients' rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
