PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant for the OB/GYN/Pediatrics unit. This 0.60 FTE day shift role focuses on compassionate pediatric care, patient safety, and family-centered support.

Qualifications

  • Oregon CNA certification is required

  • Strong communication skills with children, families, and care teams

Responsibilities

  • Support pediatric patients with daily care activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, hydration)
  • Help children move, walk, reposition, and transfer safely
  • Take and document vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
  • Observe patients and communicate updates to the care team
  • Assist nurses with treatments and basic procedures within CNA scope
  • Measure and record intake and output accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming environment for patients and families
  • Stock supplies and assist with patient flow and unit readiness
  • Document patient information promptly and accurately
  • Provide clerical and unit support (phones, orders) as needed
  • Support a safety-focused, compassionate team culture

Part-Time | 0.60 FTE | Day Shift

Pay Range: $23.25 - $34.00 per hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

What You'll Do
  • Support pediatric patients with daily care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and hydration.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, issued through either American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of age-specific growth and development principles to support the unique needs of pediatric patients.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with children, families, and care teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of CNA experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric patients.
