Presbyterian Living's Lake Forest Place in Illinois is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct and indirect resident care under nurse supervision. The schedule runs 7am–3pm with every-other weekend. We offer competitive pay with a hourly range of $20.35–$29.30 plus shift and weekend differentials, along with comprehensive benefits and a mission‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant in Illinois (IDPH).
• Able to read, write and comprehend English with medical terminology.
• Good arithmetic and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out nursing care within education/training scope.
• Follow department policies and care standards.
• Guard residents' rights and dignity.
• Communicate with staff and residents to support social needs.
• Interact warmly to establish resident relationships.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Position Overview

The main function of this position is to provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the nurse to a selected group of residents. This role can be in skilled care department or assisted living department. The minimum education, experience and qualifications for this position are: current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health; able to speak, read, write and comprehend English skills needed to use medical terminology on the job; ability to do simple arithmetic; good communication skills; interest in working with older adults; and general knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care with the scope of education/training and ability as assigned by charge nurse.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes standards of care of the nursing department.
• Guards residents’ rights.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, other employees and visitors. Interacts with residents to meet their social and recreational needs.
• Uses good interpersonal skills in establishing a relationship with the residents.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Qualifications & Skills

• CNA Certification in the state of Illinois.
• CPR certified, Accredited by American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skilled needed to use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic.
• Good communication skills.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the needs of general patients.
