Job summary

Presbyterian Living in Evanston, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant Float to provide direct and indirect care under nurse supervision at Westminster Place. The role supports a resident-centered, compassionate environment across skilled nursing or assisted living settings.

Qualifications

• CNA certification in Illinois is required.
• Able to read, write and comprehend English with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Carry out nursing care as assigned by the charge nurse.
• Follow Presbyterian Homes policies and nursing department standards.
• Guard residents' rights.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and visitors; support residents socially and recreationally.
• Use good interpersonal skills to build relationships with residents.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.

$20.35- $29.30 Hourly Rate (Based on years of experience) plus shift and weekend differentials.

Westminster Place | Full Time | Skilled Nursing Department |7am-3pm| Every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday).

Position Overview

The main function of this position is to provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the nurse to a selected group of residents. This role can be in skilled care department or assisted living department. The minimum education, experience and qualifications for this position are: current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health; able to speak, read, write and comprehend English skills needed to use medical terminology on the job; ability to do simple arithmetic; good communication skills; interest in working with older adults; and general knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care with the scope of education/training and ability as assigned by charge nurse.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes standards of care of the nursing department.
• Guards residents’ rights.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, other employees and visitors. Interacts with residents to meet their social and recreational needs.
• Uses good interpersonal skills in establishing a relationship with the residents.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

Qualifications & Skills

• CNA Certification in the state of Illinois.
• CPR certified, Accredited by American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skilled needed to use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic.
• Good communication skills.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of the needs of general patients.
