Job summary

Caring Hospice Services is seeking a Hospice Aide (CNA) to provide personal care for hospice patients under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of the interdisciplinary team. This role involves traveling to patient homes to support daily living activities and comfort at the end of life.

Qualifications include MA CNA certification and at least 1 year of home health or hospice experience, plus 1 year of direct client care in an institutional setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of approved C.N.A training program.
• Certification as a C.N.A in MA.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a home health or hospice setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (hospital or nursing facility).
• A compassionate attitude toward the care of the sick; the ability to read, write and carry out directions, maturity; and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
• Must have and maintain a reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, and the minimums state required liability auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned tasks on patient assignments and follow Home Health Aide care plans.
• Perform delegated tasks as instructed by the RN.
• Bathe patients, assist with showers and partial baths as appropriate.
• Help patients maintain personal hygiene and assist with all aspects of activities of daily living.
• Report changes in patient conditions to supervising RN.
