Job summary

The Moorings of Arlington Heights is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time role in Arlington Heights, IL. Shift: 3pm–11pm, every other weekend (Sat/Sun).

You will provide direct and indirect resident care under nurse supervision, leveraging your IL CNA certification and strong communication with residents. Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification in Illinois.
• CPR certified by American Heart Association.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; use medical terminology on the job.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic.
• Long-term care experience preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of geriatric resident needs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out nursing care as directed by the charge nurse.
• Adhere to Presbyterian Homes care standards for nursing department.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
• Interact with residents to meet social and recreational needs.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.

Position Overview

The main function of this position is to provide direct and indirect care under supervision of the nurse to a selected group of residents. This role can be in skilled care department or assisted living department.The minimum education, experience and qualifications for this position are: current certification as a nursing assistant with the Illinois Department of Public Health; able to speak, read, write and comprehend English skills needed to use medical terminology on the job; ability to do simple arithmetic; good communication skills; interest in working with older adults; and general knowledge of the needs of geriatric residents

Key Responsibilities

• Carries out nursing care with the scope of education/training and ability as assigned by charge nurse.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of Presbyterian Homes standards of care of the nursing department.
• Communicates properly with co-workers, supervisors, other employees and visitors. Interacts with residents to meet their social and recreational needs.
• Uses good interpersonal skills in establishing a relationship with the residents.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Preforms other related duties as assigned by Charge Nurse.

• CPR certified, Accredited by American Heart Association.
• Reading, writing, and comprehension skilled needed to use medical terminology on the job.
