West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences seek a Certified Nurse Midwife (ranks available: Instructor). The successful candidate will practice in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
Our midwives work collaboratively with faculty OBGYN Specialists, Uro-Gynecologists, and MFM Specialists to provide comprehensive care. Responsibilities include OB and Off-Service resident teaching, medical and nursing student teaching, and preceptorship of Advanced Practice Nurses.
Faculty midwives benefit from extensive resources, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative work environment within the WVU Medicine system.
Brian Casey, MD, ABOG-MFM, joined WVU Medicine in March 2024. He has an extensive background in healthcare leadership and a commitment to women's health in West Virginia.
Dr. Casey has held numerous leadership roles, including division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and vice chair of Obstetrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and served as MFM division director at UT Southwestern. He is an editor of Williams Obstetrics.
He completed his MFM fellowship at UT Southwestern and his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine.
