Job summary

Novant Health in Matthews, NC is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate daily living support to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a safe, clean environment, and document care as part of the patient care team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and successful completion of NA I and NA II programs, with NA I in good standing and NA II certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of NA I and NA II programs, required.
• NA registry as NA I in good standing; NA II certification with state, required.
• NC state curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire for certain units.
• BON Health Care Provider credential; medication safety awareness.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities under nurse supervision.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and document care.
• Communicate patient needs and follow care plans as directed by RNs.

What You\'ll Do

• Education: High school diploma, required.
• Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Completion of NA I and NA II programs, required.
  • NA registry as NA I in good standing. Current NA II certification with state, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
• Additional skills required: BON Health Care Provider. Medication Safety - AME.
• Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
