Job summary

Novant Health in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Nurse Aide I to provide compassionate daily living assistance and to maintain a safe, clean environment under the supervision of a registered nurse. Shift is three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with every other weekend, reporting changes promptly to the Charge Nurse.

You will document vital signs and observations, assist with admissions and transitions, and collaborate with the care team to deliver patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in long-term care or assisted living (required).
• One year experience in assisted living facilities (preferred).
• Completion of NAI program (required).
• Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I (required).
• Medication Safety - AME (required).
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire (required).
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, transfers, positioning, nutrition, hydration, and toileting.
• Obtain and document vital signs, blood glucose, intake/output, specimens, and other observations.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the nursing team; follow infection prevention and safety standards.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, transportation, and patient orientation.
• Maintain a clean, organized care environment; restock supplies and collaborate with the team.

What We Offer

Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Assisted Living units only: Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as scheduled and reporting any change in status to the Charge Nurse.

Shift / Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), including every other weekend. [Days]

What You'll Do

• Patient Care: Provide compassionate assistance with daily activities, mobility, transfers, positioning, nutrition, hydration, and toileting.
• Clinical Support: Obtain and document vital signs, blood glucose, intake/output, specimens, and other patient observations. Perform approved clinical skills within scope and competency.
• Patient Safety: Monitor patient condition, report changes or concerns to the nursing team, and follow infection prevention and safety standards.
• Admissions & Transitions: Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, transportation, and patient orientation.
• Teamwork & Environment: Maintain a clean and organized care environment, restock supplies, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality patient-centered care.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience:
  • One year preferred.
  • One year Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Completion of NAI program, required.
  • Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
  • Medication Safety - AME, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Basic computer skills for documentation.
