Job summary

Novant Health seeks a caregiver to assist residents in daily living activities and maintain a safe, clean environment under RN supervision. The role includes documentation and reporting changes in residents’ status to the Charge Nurse, particularly in assisted living units.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the NA I program, and NC-specific training in restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience preferred; 1 year in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
• Completion of NAI program; listed with the nurse aide registry as a NA I; Medication Safety - AME; NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document assistance to patients with activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as scheduled in Assisted Living units and report any change in status to the Charge Nurse.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.


• Experience: 1 year, preferred. 1 year of Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.


• Licensure/Certification: Completion of NAI program, required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required. Medication Safety - AME, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.


• Additional Skills (required): Basic computer skills for documentation.
