Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to deliver compassionate basic patient care under nursing supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA training, CPR/BCLS, and at least six months of acute or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, mobility and positioning.
• Provide nursing support with turning, lifting and equipment use.
• Assist with toileting using bedpans or commodes.
• Record vital signs and intake/output accurately.
• Prepare rooms for admission and transfer; ensure cleanliness and readiness.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable environment and respond to call lights promptly.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge procedures.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nurse Aide CNAwho excels in this role is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures.:

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• Experience: Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
• Licenses: Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required.

Schedule: PRN 12 hr. shifts, Nights (6:45p-7:15a)
