Job summary

FutureCare Associates, Inc. in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a caring CMA/Medication Technician to join our frontline health care team, supporting nurses with routine medication administration and personal resident care.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Maryland CNA license and Medication Technician/Aide Certification.
• Previous CMA experience required.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs at shift start and as directed.
• Assist residents in preparation for health examinations.
• Record and document residents' medical records.
• Set up and administer medication and immunizations per orders.
• Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of medications.
• Read and interpret residents' medical records and physician orders.
• Maintain inventory of all medications and report discrepancies immediately.
• Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and ensure that their needs are met.
• Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational, and orientation programs to maintain certification.
• Maintain and work within FutureCare’s established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement and safety programs, and environmental and infection control standards

• Competitive Pay $19.63 - 23.50/hr***

• Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of common medications
• Read and interpret residents’ medical records and physician orders
• Maintain inventory of all medications and report any discrepancies immediately
• Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and ensure that their needs are met
• Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care
• Maintain and work within FutureCare’s established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement and safety programs, and environmental and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Must hold a current certification and CNA license in Maryland as well as a Medication Technician/Aide Certification
• Previous experience as a CMA required
• Must possess a positive and professional attitude
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment
• Previous experience working in an Assisted Living environment is a plus
• Must be familiar with medical terminology and documenting in electronic health records
• Ability to communicate effectively with other nursing staff and other departments
• Current CPR Certification
