FutureCare in Baltimore is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support our nursing team with medication administration and resident care. The role ensures safe, accurate medication delivery and documentation, while upholding quality standards and compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs on residents at the start of each shift and as directed.
• Assist residents in preparation for health examinations.
• Record and document residents’ medical records.
• Set up and administer medications and immunizations per physician orders and regulations.
• Be knowledgeable about side effects and nursing implications of common meds.
• Read and interpret residents’ medical records and orders.
• Maintain inventory of medications and report discrepancies.

Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately and paid pursuant to the relevant program schedule. All employment offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs on residents at beginning of each shift and as directed
• Assist residents in preparation for health examinations
• Record and document residents’ medical record
• Set up and administer medication and immunizations in accordance with physician’s orders and state/federal regulations
• Display knowledge of side effects, interactions, and nursing implications of common medications
• Read and interpret residents’ medical records and physician orders
• Maintain inventory of all medications and report any discrepancies immediately
• Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents and ensure that their needs are met
• Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational, and orientation programs to maintain certification and enhance quality of care
• Maintain and work within FutureCare’s established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement and safety programs, and environmental and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Must hold a current certification and CNA license in Maryland as well as a Medication Technician/Aide Certification
• Previous experience as a CMA required
• Must possess a positive and professional attitude
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Previous experience working in an Assisted Living environment is a plus
• Must be familiar with medical terminology and documenting in electronic health records
• Ability to communicate effectively with other nursing staff and other departments
• Current CPR Certification
