Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Columbia seeks a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to provide compassionate home-care services in Columbia, MD and surrounding Howard County. Pay ranges from $17.50 to $19.50 per hour, with full-time, part-time, PRN and flexible scheduling options.

Join a supportive team delivering personalized care and upholding Maryland standards. Responsibilities include medication administration under nurse supervision, ADL assistance, documentation, and EVV.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland CMT certification or equivalent.
• Active Maryland CNA or direct-care credential when required.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain before assignment.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications only when authorized and delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Follow MARs, physician orders, and medication protocols.
• Document medication administration accurately and promptly.
• Observe and report medication concerns or adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Provide companionship and support for clients with chronic conditions or dementia.
• Follow care plans and infection prevention procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, nurses, and staff.
• Complete accurate care documentation, including EVV.

Your Responsibilities

As a Certified Medication Technician, you will provide compassionate home-care services and assist with medication-related tasks as permitted by Maryland law, your certification, and the client's care plan.

Responsibilities include:

• Administer medications only when appropriately authorized and delegated by a licensed nurse, in accordance with applicable Maryland requirements.

• Follow medication administration records (MARs), physician orders, and established medication protocols.

• Document medication administration accurately and promptly.

• Observe and report medication concerns, changes in condition, or potential adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

• Provide companionship and support for clients with chronic conditions, disabilities, or dementia.

• Follow individualized care plans and infection prevention procedures.

• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, nurses, and office staff.

• Complete accurate and timely care documentation, including required electronic visit verification (EVV).

Qualifications

Required:

• Active Maryland Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification, or other Maryland-recognized medication technician credential appropriate to the assignment.

• Active Maryland CNA certification or another qualifying direct-care credential, when required for the position.

• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain before assignment.

• Reliable transportation to client assignments.

• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance when driving is required.

• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Ability to follow medication protocols and work within authorized scope of practice.

• Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a CMT in home care, assisted living, or long-term care.

• Experience supporting clients with dementia or chronic medical conditions.

• Familiarity with medication administration records and electronic documentation.

• Availability for evening or weekend assignments.
