Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Columbia, Maryland is seeking a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to provide compassionate home-care services in Columbia and Howard County, MD. The role involves administering medications under nurse delegation, following MARs, documenting care, and supporting daily living activities for clients with chronic conditions.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland CMT certification or equivalent.
• Active Maryland CNA or other qualifying direct-care credential when required.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain before assignment.
• Reliable transportation to client assignments.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance when driving is required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow medication protocols and work within authorized scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications only when appropriately authorized and delegated by a licensed nurse, in accordance with applicable Maryland requirements.
• Follow medication administration records (MARs), physician orders, and established medication protocols.
• Document medication administration accurately and promptly.
• Observe and report medication concerns, changes in condition, or potential adverse reactions to the supervising nurse.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide companionship and support for clients with chronic conditions, disabilities, or dementia.
• Follow individualized care plans and infection prevention procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, families, nurses, and office staff.
• Complete accurate and timely care documentation, including required EVV.
