CERTIFIED MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

Essential Functions/Accountabilities:
- Administers medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Follows pharmacy policies related to medication storage and administration.
- Documents medication administration immediately following the process.
- Reports medication errors and resident refusals promptly.
- Fulfills responsibilities as a Versatile Worker, providing resident care, housekeeping, and support.
- Ensures safety and proper storage of equipment and supplies.
- Engages with residents regarding food preferences and assists with inventory and grocery ordering.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and comfortable household environment.
- Attends ongoing education to maintain certification and stay current.
- Works in environments with potential exposure to communicable diseases, using proper infection control techniques.
- Provides personal care, supports residents' self-care, and monitors for skin issues and other health concerns.
- Responds promptly to residents’ requests and call alerts.
- Develops and evaluates activity and recreation programs.
- Communicates effectively with staff and residents via email, phone, and in person.
- Assists with transportation for activities and appointments.
- Supports residents’ restorative programs and maintains dignity and comfort.
- Records care activities accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Contributes to and implements individualized care plans based on resident preferences.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified as a medication tech (CMT) and CNA in Kentucky.
- Current, unencumbered certification in Kentucky.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with others.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
- Capable of coping with mental and emotional stress.
- Works effectively with residents and staff, maintaining integrity and flexibility.
- May need to assist in emergency evacuations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months experience as a Resident Assistant.
- BCLS CPR certification.
