Job summary
Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care under a charge nurse. You will administer medications, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support dining and activities for residents in a compassionate, Christian environment.
The role offers a location premium, night and weekend differentials, education assistance, and opportunities for advancement.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 18 preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Maintains required certifications and completes state-mpecified continuing education.
- If applicable, CNA/CMA/TMA certifications per state requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
- Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
- Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate changes in condition and care needs to the charge nurse.
- Assist with meals, housekeeping, laundry, and participation in wellness/recreational programs.
