Job summary
Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision. You will assist with meals, hygiene, vital signs, and medication administration while maintaining safety and quality care on the unit.
Role requires CNA certification per state guidelines and ongoing competency/education. A flexible PRN schedule with varied shifts and access to daily earnings is offered along with a robust benefits
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 18 years preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Completes yearly competency testing and continuing education credits as required.
- May require valid driver’s license and auto insurance where applicable.
- CNA certification required per state regulations (IA/ MN/ND/SD).
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse.
- Administer prescribed medications as delegated and document outcomes.
- Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive specimens and record vital signs.
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry to keep living areas clean.
- Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
