Job summary

NHC Healthcare Glasgow is seeking Certified Medication Aides to join our nursing team. The CMA will administer daily medications and assist with ADLs under the supervision of licensed nurses.

We value attention to detail, excellent communication, and compassionate patient care, with opportunities for advancement and education provided by NHC. Applicants must be certified CMA and CNA where applicable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily medications to patients.

Job description

NHC Healthcare Glasgow is looking for excellent Certified Medication Aides to join our nursing team! Must be certifed!

A Certified Medication Aide is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) responsible for administering daily medication to patients in a medical facility and assisting with ADLs. Also referred to as Medical Aide Technicians, their duties include monitoring patients, reporting changes, assisting with ADLs and following physician orders.

A CMA is a qualified and self‑motivated and extremely detail‑oriented person. The need to possess in‑depth knowledge of patient care procedures. Providing excellent patient care is a vital part of this job, that is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required and being attentive to patients’ conditions is a must too.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily medications to patients as ordered.
• Coordinate with Licensed Nurses to assist with patient care and medications.
• Follow orders in detail on how to manage medications.
• Record medications administered.
• Observe patients and document changes in their condition as well as report changes to the Licensed Nurse.
• Gather samples for analysis as ordered.
• Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
• Uphold all health and safety standards.
• Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.
