Job summary

NHC Healthcare Glasgow is seeking Certified Medication Aides to join our nursing team. This role requires current CMA/CNA certification and a strong focus on patient care.

You will administer daily medications, assist with activities of daily living, and work closely with Licensed Nurses to ensure safe, compassionate care. NHC Healthcare Glasgow is looking for excellent Certified Medication Aides to join our nursing team! Must be certifed!

A Certified Medication Aide is a certified nursing assistant (CNA) responsible for administering daily medication to patients in a medical facility and assisting with ADLs. Also referred to as Medical Aide Technicians, their duties include monitoring patients, reporting changes, assisting with ADLs and following physician orders.

A CMA is a qualified and self‑motivated and extremely detail‑oriented person. The need to possess in‑depth knowledge of patient care procedures. Providing excellent patient care is a vital part of this job, that is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required and being attentive to patients’ conditions is a must too.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily medications to patients as ordered.
• Coordinate with Licensed Nurses to assist with patient care and medications.
• Follow orders in detail on how to manage medications.
• Record medications administered.
• Observe patients and document changes in their condition as well as report changes to the Licensed Nurse.
• Gather samples for analysis as ordered.
• Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
• Uphold all health and safety standards.
• Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.
