Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide nurse-assisted care and daily living support to residents at Brainerd facilities. You will follow the plan of care, assist with activities of daily living and report changes to the supervising nurse.

You’ll administer medications under supervision, take vital signs, and participate in wellness activities. A CNA or CMA certification is required by state guidelines, with travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual continuing education: minimum 12 hours, state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record vital signs, care notes and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility and daily activities; support dining and meals.
