Job summary

Homestead of Kearney is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to assist with medication administration under physician orders and nursing supervision. You will follow established nursing standards and community policies, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities include documenting medications, verifying labels, and reporting any adverse reactions or refusals promptly. Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have CMA certification in good standing with the State.

Responsibilities

• Comply with the Community’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
• Comply with the nursing department’s policies and procedures.
• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Executive Director, RCC/Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Document and report errors in the administration of medications immediately upon discovery.
• Ensure medications are properly labeled, stored, and dated per policy.
• Complete medication charting per Community policy and procedure.
• Follow Community procedures governing drug receipt errors, including notifying the delivery source and RCC/Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Honor the resident’s right to refuse medications.
• Observe and verify medication ingestion or application as directed.
• Notify RCC/Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of refusals or reactions promptly.
• Self-administering procedures when allowed, and monitor related documentation.
