Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management's Whitesboro facility is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide (Texas certified) to support resident care. The role emphasizes compassionate service, safety, and teamwork in a supportive environment. You will administer nursing care, verify resident IDs, and coordinate with the Charge Nurse and administrators to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Texas Medication Aide certification
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience during CNA class
• Ability to work in a clinical nursing setting with safety standards

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies, nursing care procedures, and safety rules
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide nursing care
• Verify resident identification before care or meals to ensure correct recipient
• Report missing ID bands to the admission coordinator immediately
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed areas
• Ensure water pitchers are clean and accessible to residents
• Carry out other duties as assigned by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator

Your Qualifications

• Certified as a Medication Aide in the state of Texas
• A minimum of 6 months experience as a certified nursing assistant or clinical experience while enrolled in a nursing assistant certification class.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility’s established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules and regulations.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care.
• Verify the identification of a resident before administering nursing care or serving food, to assure that appropriate care is being provided to the correct resident.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Assure that water pitchers are cleaned, filled with fresh drinking water and within the resident’s reach.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
