Tradition Senior Living Prestonwood seeks a Certified Medication Aide to administer oral and topical medications to residents under physician orders, supervised by a licensed nurse, in a luxury senior living setting. The CMA reports to the Healthcare Director and supports day-to-day healthcare operations.

The role requires state CNA certification and Texas CMA permit, with strong observation and communication skills, and ability to read medication labels to ensure safe administration.

Qualifications

  • State certification as a nursing assistant is required.
  • State approved Medication Administration certification (Texas CMA permit).
  • Familiarity with duties of a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2pm–10pm coverage and support to residents.
  • Take/record vital signs as directed by medical staff.
  • Perform rounds and communicate significant changes to supervisor.

We are currently seeking a Certified Medication Aide at our Tradition - Prestonwood community. In this role, you will be responsible for administering oral and topical medications to residents under scope of practice. These tasks are performed as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations, and consistent with community policies. The CMA reports directly to our Healthcare Director who oversees day to day operations of the community's Healthcare department.

Responsibilities
  • 2pm-10pm
  • Providing the required support to assist residents
  • Taking/recording vital signs, such as temperature blood-pressure as directed by medical or nursing staff
  • Makes routine rounds on assigned residents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Promptly communicates any significant changes in behavior or condition to supervisor.
Required
  • State certification as a nursing assistant is required
  • State approved medication administration certification- Texas CMA permit
  • Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nursing assistant
  • Highly developed observation skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills needed
  • Ability to read medication labels, etc.
