Job summary

Pillar of Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our caregiving team in Waterloo. The role requires a 60-hour CMA certification and CPR certification, with 1st shift hours 6:00am to 2:00pm to support residents with daily med administration and care plans.

You will work closely with physicians and staff to ensure quality care, document accurately, and participate in ongoing staff recognition and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE Certified Medication Aide (60 hours) certification from a credited school.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ needs and develop/ follow individual care plans.
• Administer medications and direct care as prescribed.
• Communicate changes in residents’ status to physicians, staff and family.
• Document appropriately as needed in PCC.
• Ensure quality care via CMA processes and guidelines.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate authority.
• Move medication carts and assist residents as needed.

Job Description

• Assess the residents’ needs and assist in developing and following individual care plans

• Assure quality care is delivered through the utilization of CMA processes and guidelines

• Identify and communicate changes in residents’ status to physicians, staff, and family members

• Administer medications, and other direct care as prescribed and indicated

• Communicate appropriate information to all staff to provide a smooth shift transition

• Report any suspected abuse to appropriate authority

• Document appropriately as needed or required in PCC

• Push/pull 30 pounds of force required to move medication carts and to transport residents in wheelchair

Qualifications

• Certified Medication Aide for the State of Iowa (60 hour class)

• Current CPR certification
