Surgery Partners is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to review outpatient charts, code patient charges, and process records promptly. The role supports clinical staff and physicians to ensure accurate documentation and timely billing.

Ideal candidates have ICD-10-CM and CPT experience, preferably in ASC or anesthesia settings, and hold coding credentials. Strong attention to detail and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have functional knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Skills in gathering and reporting claim information.
• Skills in solving utilization problems.
• Skills in working with Windows based software systems.
• Ability to code medical records with ICD-10-CM.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes outpatient charts, records deficiencies, and assigns responsibility for completion.
• Develops a system for and conducts regular quality control reviews for accuracy.
• Tracks problems related to record completion and reports to supervisor.
• Ensures records are available when requested and that coding aligns with discharge timelines.
• Ensures coding is completed within two working days of discharge and conforms to ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 where applicable.
• Completes data entry, claim generation, and reporting.
• Maintains professional interactions with customers, patients, payors, and staff.
• Participates in continuous process improvement and staff development.
