The role involves verifying billing information, assigning ICD-10 codes, and ensuring CPT accuracy and modifiers, while serving as the coding/billing liaison for faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Knowledge of surgery coding a plus.
• Minimum 2 years surgery coding experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and related computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to identify facts for diagnoses/procedures.
• Verify billing info, assign ICD-10 codes, review CPT accuracy/modifiers.
• Respond to requests for help resolving coding/billing issues.
• Liaise with faculty/administrators for coding/billing matters.
• Assist in increasing physician awareness of documentation requirements.
• Prepare case reports and initiate billing follow-up.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
