Job summary

Connecticut GI, a division of GI Alliance, is seeking a full-time Coding Specialist to join our Billing Department. The role requires certified-level coding expertise to assign CPT/HCPCS and ICD‑10 codes, apply modifiers, and ensure payer/regulatory compliance.

You will help prevent denials and support revenue integrity across specialties. The position offers a hybrid work model with on-site requirements; energizing a collaborative environment with clinicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification required (CPC, CCS, COC, or equivalent).
• 1–2 years coding experience preferred; specialty experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD‑10, and modifier usage.

Responsibilities

• Independently review clinical documentation and assign CPT/HCPCS and ICD‑10 codes.
• Apply modifiers and coding rules per CMS, AMA, and payer guidelines.
• Resolve complex charge review edits and coding-related claim issues.
• Identify denial trends and escalate for process improvement.
• Collaborate with providers to clarify documentation for compliant coding.
• Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks for certified coders.
