Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years' CPT and ICD-10 coding experience.
• Coding certification required; CPC preferred; active certification and CEUs required.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Familiarity with payer-specific coding rules regarding modifiers and bundling.
• Understanding of regulatory guidelines including NCDs and LCDs.

Responsibilities

• Review initial charges to assign CPT and ICD-10 codes for physician services.
• Interpret notes and reports to determine services and code appropriately.
• Enter data into the TMP billing system with correct codes and modifiers.
• Coordinate with team to ensure timely charge processing.
• Query physicians to ensure proper coding.
• Review patient logs to ensure billing is captured accurately.
• Ensure documentation complies with third-party and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with Reimbursement staff to answer coding/billing inquiries.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
