Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Medical Assistant - Certified for Urgent Care in Wareham, MA. This position involves supporting patient care, assisting providers, and coordinating clinic flow across sites as needed.

A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible hires, with a 40-hour workweek and rotating day/evening shifts. Required: high school diploma or equivalent, medical assistant program, and BLS; certification within 13 months if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.
• National certification such as AMCA/AAMA/AMT/CCMA (NHA) or NCMA within 13 months of hire.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR or health-related software preferred.
• 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccination required or eligible for exemption with signed statement.
• Other certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of medical assisting duties in the assigned Medical Office(s).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Facilitate efficient patient flow and coordinate with clinic team and families.
• Handle telephone communication including test results, schedules, and follow-up.
