Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Urgent Care department in Bartlesville, OK. This PRN, casual position offers variable days and no benefits, with shifts Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–7:30 PM and weekends 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

The role involves greeting patients, taking vital signs, assisting clinicians, and real-time documentation to ensure high-quality records. Strong organizational skills and CMA/MA certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant certification within 180 days of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent; related experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare them for examinations, taking accurate vital signs.
• Document symptoms, diagnoses, and orders in real time to maintain medical records.
• Maintain exam rooms and stock essential supplies for efficient treatments.
• Handle administrative tasks and manage communications to support clinic operations.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver personalized patient care by greeting individuals warmly, preparing them for examinations, obtaining accurate vital signs, and assisting providers during clinical treatments.
• Streamline the patient-provider encounter through real-time documentation of symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, and order transcriptions to ensure complete, high-quality medical records.
• Optimize exam room readiness by maintaining immaculate care spaces, ensuring essential clinical supplies are fully stocked and accessible for efficient treatments.
• Support seamless clinic operations by handling essential administrative tasks, managing incoming communications, and keeping patient data organized to maintain a stress-free care journey.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• Prior CMA experience preferred
• MA Certification and/or Registration in good standing through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA
• Must either be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or in school currently to obtain your CMA/RMA
