Ascension is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Primary Care team in Bixby, OK. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Ascension Medical Group.

You will greet patients, take vital signs, assist clinicians, and ensure accurate documentation and well-prepared exam rooms to support efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) in good standing preferred.
• Note: professional licensure/certification can substitute education/experience where applicable.

Responsabilités

• Greet patients, prepare them for examinations, obtain vital signs, and assist providers.
• Document symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, and orders in real time to maintain high-quality medical records.
• Maintain exam rooms with stocked supplies for efficient treatments.
• Handle administrative tasks and patient communications to support smooth clinic operations.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Deliver personalized patient care by greeting individuals warmly, preparing them for examinations, obtaining accurate vital signs, and assisting providers during clinical treatments.
• Streamline the patient-provider encounter through real-time documentation of symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, and order transcriptions to ensure complete, high-quality medical records.
• Optimize exam room readiness by maintaining immaculate care spaces, ensuring essential clinical supplies are fully stocked and accessible for efficient treatments.
• Support seamless clinic operations by handling essential administrative tasks, managing incoming communications, and keeping patient data organized to maintain a stress-free care journey.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Medical Assistant obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable

Additional Preferences

• Prior CMA experience preferred
• MA Certification and/or Registration in good standing through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA
• Must either be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or in school currently to obtain your CMA/RMA.
